The Rockville Rock Hounds lost the final game of a short 2-game series at the hands of the Neptune Beach Pearl. The Hounds trailed 3-1, through 4 innings of play, but the Rock Hounds manged to scratch out 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Both teams went scoreless, thank to Hounds reliever Rylan Haney, and Pearl reliever Joe Riley. Mark Quinby (UCSD) threw a scoreless 9th, but the Pearl had a broken bat infield single and a walk, that set the table for a bloop single over the Hounds 1st baseman, sealing the victory for the Pearl.
The Rock Hounds left 7 runners on base. Kirby Broadbent and Grant St. Martin led the offense, each collecting a pair of singles a piece. The Hounds resume action on Monday when they host the Prune Packers again. They play a home and home 2-game series with the Auburn Wildcats on Tuesday and Wednesday, then host the Pearl on Friday and Saturday.
