The Rockville Rock Hounds dropped a league road contest to the Neptune Beach Pearl. The Hounds took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 2nd inning, but a 5-run second by the Pearl became the deciding inning. The Rock Hounds scratched back with a pair of runs in the 5th inning, capped off by a 2-out single by Kyle Krebs. Rockville gave up a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, , but pulled back within two with a single run in the sixth. RHP Kirby Broadbent came in relief to toss 3 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 4. The Rock Hounds gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to increase the lead to 9-5 Pearl. The Hounds did get back to back RBI doubles by Kenny Quilatan and Jack Pridy, which brought up the tying run. Pinch hitter Kenney LeBeau struck out to end the game, and the Pearl defeated the Hounds 9-7.
The Rock Hounds and Pearl conclude the short 2-game series tomorrow in Oakland. 1st pitch is 2pm. RHP Carson Haws (Eastern Illinois) will start for the Rock Hounds.
