Hounds Still Trying To Find Their Footing

June 7, 2017

The Rockville Rock Hounds opened up California Collegiate League play tonight, hosting the Healdsburg Prune Packers. The Rock Hounds, who came off an opening weekend that taxed their bull pen, had to play from behind with an early exit from starter Jordan Chana. Chana suffered some elbow pain after facing only five Prune Packers hitters. 5 total Rock Hound pitchers combined to walk 11 and hit three batters, in the 17-9 loss. "We were really hoping to get a start today that could get our bull pen back on track after a long weekend", Head Coach Scott Stover explained. "Injuries are out of our control, and we hope that Jordan's MRI comes back clean".

The Hounds did have success offensively.  Max Smith, Hunter Snyder, and Willy Homza each colected 2 hits, with Homza and Smith adding RBI doubles. Kevin Sandri added an RBI double, while Garlind Webster hit his 3rd home run of the young season, with 2 RBI.

The Rock Hounds will travel to Oakland to take on the Walnut Creek Crawdads, at Laney College. 1st pitch is 6pm.
