Shorthanded Hounds Lose Big in Arcata

June 4, 2017

The Rockville Rock Hounds suffered their 2nd straight loss to start the season on Saturday night. Rockville trailed from the start, with starter Carson Haws allowing 2 runs in the first inning, but it was the five run 4th inning that would serve as the dagger for the Hounds. Haws, who recorded the loss (0-1) allowed 6 runs in 3 2/3 innings pitched.  Reliever Ryan Pearman (Georgetown College) pitched the final 4 2/3, allowing 2 runs, striking out 5, and walking none. Mark Quinby and Max Smith (UNLV) collected 2 hits a piece, and Danny Molinari (Limestone College), Kevin Sandri (UOP), and Kenny Quilitan (Solano College), each had a hit and an RBI.

Rockville will try to salvage the final game of the series tomorrow at 12:30pm. Kenny Quilitan will get the spot start for the Rock Hounds. The Hounds will return home Tuesday where they will host the Healdsburg Prune Packers in their California Collegiate League season opener.
