With half of the summer schedule complete, Rally Factory Rockhounds poised for big second half run

FAIRFIELD – Andrew Ayers admits that, when it comes to coaching the Rally Factory Rockhounds summer college baseball team, winning isn’t everything.

The 25-year-old Sacramento State assistant is the head man for a Rockhounds’ team that plays out of Solano College at Yarbrough Stadium.

“With the number of players we had at first, we had to find some balance to get everybody playing time and to get pitchers enough innings,” Ayers said. “The players are paying to play, so they deserve the chance to play. Sure, you want to win....
