Hounds Salvage 2nd Game of Double Header. Win 2 of 3 in two days.

July 3, 2016

After an exciting comeback in yesterday's contest vs the West Coast Kings, the Rally Factory Rock Hounds suffered a 13-2 loss in game one of a double header at the hands of the Novato Knicks this morning. The Rock Hounds gave up 12 runs in the 4th inning, after leading 2-1 going into the frame. Fortunately, the Hounds needed a shut down outing to salvage the double header, and they got it. MSU's Jake Fromson took the mound in game two this afternoon and was nothing short of spectacular. Fromson silenced the Knicks bats, by allowing only one unearned run, on three hits in six innings of work. He finished with 8 strikeouts to only 1 walk. Fromson earned his 2nd win in 4 starts. In 22 innings of work, he has 19 strikeouts, to only 4 walks. Opponents are hitting a meager .226 against him, and he boasts a 2.45 earned run average.

Joey Dodson, Jack Pridy, and Jedd Fagg had two hits and an RBI each. In the first game, Chase Grant and catcher Clayton Espino had three hits each, while Jedd Fagg drove in the only 2 Rock Hound runs.

The Rock Hounds get a short break before returning to action on Wednesday at the Auburn Wildcats. First pitch is 7pm. Check out the rest of our website for game video, results, and box scores.
