In a game that saw a lot of what's wrong with baseball today, the Rally Factory Rock Hounds lost the opening game of a four game series vs the Auburn Wildcats 11-2. The game got off to a rough start, with the umpires arriving to the field 20 minutes late. The historic, and once scenic James Field in Auburn, appeared to be a shell of the facility it once was. The flooded areas that were peppered all over the field, added to the lack of attention the facility had been getting. With that being said, the Rock Hounds did not make a great appearance as well. The Rock Hounds seven free passes, coupled with four Rock Hound errors led to an early 9-run deficit for the Hounds.
Kellen Sillanpaa pitched a solid 4 innings of relief, allowing no earned runs, one hit, and striking out 2. Jeddadiah Fagg had three of the Rock Hounds 8 hits, and Kirby Broadbent drove in the team's only runs, with a 2-run single in the 7th inning. The two teams will meet again tonight at 7pm in Auburn.
