Riding a season high 3-game winning streak, the Rally Factory Rock Hounds traveled back to Oakland to take on the Neptune Beach Pearl. The Rock Hounds got off to a shaky start, but led in the 2nd, 4th, and 8th innings, only to see those leads fade quickly. Trailing 5-4 in the 4th, catcher Matt Poulin hit a 2-run HR to left to give the Hounds a 6-5 lead. Jack Pridy's solo shot in the 6th inning tied the game 7-7, after the Pearl scored two unearned runs the inning prior. The final blow for the Rock Hounds came off the bat of Tyler Stover. Stover hit a solo shot to dead center field to lead off the 7th inning. Leading 8-7 in the 8th, the Rock Hounds gave up the lead again. A combination of three free passes and an error lead to 4 unearned runs for the Pearl. The Rock Hounds fell 11-8.
Sophomore Jake Fromson (Missouri State) pitched well after a tough first inning. In all, Fromson pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits. He struck out 3 and walked only 1. He did not factor in the decision. Freshman Jackson Gentes (San Francisco State) pitched 2 scoreless frames in the 6th and 7th in his Rock Hound debut.
Rally Factory will have two days off before they embark on a 3 day road trip to Alameda and Auburn. They return home on June 18 & 19 to host the Auburn Wildcats.
